Christian Hagemann
Originally coming from the fine art background, Christian Hagemann (Berlin) began recently to apply his creativity also as a commercial photographer. After his graduation in 2007 at the renowned Royal College of Art in London, Christian started his career as an artist and exhibited his works in numerous shows in Europe, eg. Fotomuseum Winterthur, Museum Folkwang Essen and Voies Off Festival, Arles. Also in 2007 he was selected by New Yorks leading creative agency ArtAndCommerce to be one of their “Peek2007” emerging photographers.
Working both in photography and sculpture, Christian is combining those different disciplines of art as the base of his unique still live compositions. His images display an extreme awareness and sensibility towards the materiality and peculiarity of objects and reveal extravagant and unexpected connections and associations through his arrangements and setups. Christians works interweave playfully the elegant aesthetics of the 20ies and 50ies with the high end realism of contemporary photography, resulting in an elegant, simple and yet alluring imagery which is unseen to the common commercial still life photography.
